Construction of Kazakh-Chinese investment projects will be carried out in accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan
During the period of Kazakhstan’s independence, 361.8 billion US dollars of foreign investments from more than 120 countries have been attracted. The People’s Republic of China accounts for about 6%.
In accordance with the Intergovernmental Framework Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the PRC on strengthening cooperation in the field of industrialization and investment, signed in 2015 at a high political level, 52 joint Kazakh-Chinese projects worth $ 21.1 billion have being implemented in Kazakhstan in such sectors as: metallurgy, oil and gas processing, chemical industry, mechanical engineering, electric power industry, transport, construction materials, healthcare and agriculture.
It should be noted that from 2015 to July 2022, 20 projects worth $ 4453 million have been launched, 15 projects totaling $ 5326 million are under implementation, and 17 projects are under consideration.
As a result of the implementation of the Kazakhstan-China program of industrial and investment cooperation, it is expected to create a number of high-tech competitive enterprises focused on exports to foreign markets. About 22 thousand new jobs are expected to be created, with the share of Kazakhstani workers amounting to more than 90%..
The final products of future production facilities will be passenger cars, oil and gas equipment, steel pipes, special alloys, primary aluminum, soda ash, polypropylene, rapeseed oil and meat products.
Additionally, there will be projects in the power, construction, light industry, infrastructure and healthcare sectors.
All projects implemented in different regions of the country, using modern technologies, their construction is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including in terms of obtaining permits in the field of product safety, environmental and other standards. All projects without exception must receive a positive conclusion of the state expertise, and only then will the construction of production facilities be authorized.
